There are a number of reasons a circuit breaker can fail, but the most common causes are:
Age is one of the most common reasons a circuit breaker fails. As breakers age, they can malfunction because they trip over practically any electrical current passing through, even average voltage levels.
Water and moisture can often corrode and rust your breakers and their connections, leading them to trip and eventually fail.
Oftentimes homeowners will attempt to install circuit breakers themselves and not have a trusted certified electrician at Morrison Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical install the breaker, leaving loose connections in place. When there are loose connections within your circuit breaker, it can short circuit very easily. This can potentially be dangerous and should just be replaced altogether by certified electricians at Morrison Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical.

I recently needed to remove an old tub and install a new one, so I reached out to two companies: Embrich Plumbing and Morrison Plumbing. Morrison’s quote came in $2,800 cheaper, but even then, I still felt both quotes were a bit out of my budget. I asked Morrison if they could work with me, and Jimmy went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. He truly listened and found a way to make it work, which I greatly appreciated. On installation day, Jimmy and Todd arrived right on time. From the start, they were friendly, professional, and courteous. We’d just had a big snowfall, and I was so impressed by the care they took to protect my home—they wore booties and laid down red material to keep my floors and carpets clean. You’d be surprised how many workers overlook small details like that, but not these guys!Throughout the demo, I watched them work, and even when unexpected issues popped up, they found smart solutions and never lost their cool. When we discovered the tub I had purchased from Lowe’s was cracked, I didn’t know what to do since I didn’t have a truck. Without hesitation, Jimmy and Todd offered to help. They drove with me 30 minutes to the nearest Lowe’s with the replacement tub in stock and made the exchange seamless. They didn’t have to do this, but they went out of their way to help, and I can’t say enough about their kindness and generosity.Honestly, these two were the easiest and most enjoyable workers I’ve ever had the pleasure of hiring. They explained every step of the process, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable throughout. Morrison Plumbing’s management should take note—Jimmy would make an excellent manager for bathroom remodels, and Todd absolutely deserves a raise for his hard work and professionalism. They didn’t ask me to say that, but let’s face it—great workers like them deserve recognition!Thank you, Jimmy, Todd, and Morrison Plumbing for an exceptional experience. I’ll definitely be recommending you to anyone in need of plumbing work.

Circuit breaker locking systems can be useful for securing the circuit breaker system in any area accessible to others, but does compromise safety matters. Circuit breaker locking systems can either be in on or off mode. While there are benefits to circuit breaker locking systems like their ability to potentially prevent electrical fires or other mishaps, in such an instance, until you can physically unlock the breaker, the power will remain off. Off hand, this might not seem to be such a big deal, but if there is someone in your household who needs medical equipment that requires constant power, this poses a serious threat. If you’re installing a circuit breaker locking system, call Morrison Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical to consult with an electrical expert on whether or not circuit breaker locking systems are appropriate for your home.
A fusible switch is what was more commonly used before circuit breakers were around. Fusible switches can still often be found in older homes. Fusible switches contain a fuse that protects your home and appliances from being damaged in cases of electrical overload. If your home still utilizes a fusible switch and you are thinking of replacing it with circuit breakers, give a call to consult with an electrical expert who can assess your home, power needs, and offer a price quote.
How many additional circuit breakers you can add to your breaker box depends on a few things. Firstly, you will need to analyze how much physical space there is on your breaker box. If there is minimal space left, you can remove some of the metal punch-out panels to create more room on your breaker box. If there are no more of these spaces left, you have a full circuit breaker panel and additional circuit breakers cannot be installed. Alternatively, you can put in what is called a sub panel to accommodate the additional circuit breakers. Lastly, and most importantly, you must check your electrical panel to see how many breakers or other brands it is rated to handle. Do not exceed the maximum capacity of your breaker box even if you have the additional room to install more. If you are wanting to add additional circuit breakers to your breaker box, it is best to have a professional electrician from install them, as they have the skills and experience on how to do so.
